Geology

Short characteristics of the site: The isolated small outcrops in the creek near the Bražiska settlement expose strongly deformed oldest strata of the Rača Unit: Rajnochovice and Kaumberg formations. Black shales are the prevailing lithology of the Rajnochovice Formation. Micropalaentologically proven ages are the Barremian-Aptian and Uppermost Albian. Variegated and red claystones of the Kaumberg Formation are lower Turonian in age based on microfossils (dinocysts, foraminifers and radiolarians).
Regional geologic unit: Carpathian - Flysch belt - Magurian group of nappes
Stratigraphy: mezozoikum - křída - svrchní křída, mezozoikum - křída - spodní křída
Subject: lithology, paleontology, stratigraphy
Geological phenomenon: outcrop, fossils fauna, slickenside
Genesis: sedimentary
Rock: sandstone, siltstone, claystone

Territorial conservation

Level of protection: Interesting geological localities in Protected landscape area
Protection of a geol. phenomenon: C - Geological phenomenon is the reason for a registration in the database of CGS
